  • AUCTION TYPES
    • What type of auctions can I find on Industrial Discount?

You will find auctions on sale on behalf of Legal Procedures, Leasing, or privates. Each auction has different conditions so please make sure you read the Sale Conditions before taking part in an auction.

      Download the user guide

    • What is an online competitive two-phase auction?

The auction is split in two phases, the first part allows you to bid for each single lot. During the second phase you can bid for all the lots in bulk.

      • First phase

During this phase you can make offers for the single lots until the timer expires*.
Then the second phase opens. Click on the link that appears in the lot page to go straight to the main auction page.
        * the time may change according to the offers received.

(See section HOW IT WORKS > When does an auction close?))

      • Second phase (extention phase)

During this 10-minute phase you will have the chance to make an offer for the whole bulk. Timer and price** will appear in the main auction page.
If during the second phase offers are received, the highest bidder will be considered the winner of all the goods included in the auction. On the contrary if no offers are made before the expiration of the ten minutes, the highest bidder of each lot becomes the winner.

You can verify the bulk value as it updates before the second phase opens:

        • Add the auction or lot to your Watchlist
        • Access your Watchlist and you will find the bulk value updated real time
** The bulk starting price is equal to the sum of the value of each single lot plus a minimum raise (equal to the sum of the minimum raise for each lot).
IMPORTANT: if the auction has reserve prices the bulk price will be equal to the sum of the reserve prices plus a minimum raise (equal to the sum of the minimum raise for each lot).

    • What is an online competitive single auction?

In this type of auction, you can bid only for single lots. There will be no second phase so you cannot place bids for the whole bulk.

    • What is an online competitive bulk auction?

In this type of auction, you can make offers only for the whole bulk and will not have the option to bid for single lots. Once you pay the deposit you will see he button “bid now” appear on the main auction page.

    • What does “contact us” mean and why can’t I pay the deposit?

Read carefully the auction description for more information. There can be two types of auction that show this option:

      • Auction preview

The page is the advertisement of an auction that has not opened yet. You can find the auction opening date, from which you will be able to pay the deposit, in the auction description. If you click on “contact us” you can send a request for more preliminary information.

If in the auction page you read “auction suspended” or “Asta sospesa” the date refers to the end of the “suspension”. Add the auction to your watchlist to keep updated.

      • Offline auction

In this type of auction, you will not see the button “pay deposit” and you will not have the possibility to make offers on the website. To take part in the auction follow the instructions described in the specific sale terms and conditions, the auction sale notice, and the auction description in the main page.

For more information click “contact us” or contact the agent.

    • What is an asynchronous auction or “asincrona/D.M.25”?

This type of auction is pursuant to ex art. 25 D.M. 32/2015 of the Italian law.

      The user has two possibilities:

      • Take part in the auction
      • Take part as a “watcher”

The online auction will be visible only to the users who ask specific authorization.

    • Can I take part as a watcher and eventually make an offer?

It will not be possible to make offers when taking part as an “watcher”.

    • How can I take part in an asynchronous auction?
      • Send an offer equal to or higher than the starting price

      • Closed auctions

Here you will find your followed unsold closed auctions.

  • DEPOSIT
    • What is the deposit and when do I have to pay it?

It is the amount you are required deposit to be able to bid for the lots in an auction. This amount is not to be considered as an advance payment nor an offer and will be held only temporarily to be eventually returned:

      • It is not an advance payment
      • It is not an offer
      • It will be held only temporarily and returned after the auction is closed
      • One deposit is valid for all lots in one auction

Once you paid the deposit and after your profile has been authorized:

      • Login to your account
      • Go to the auction page or the lot page and you will notice that “PAY DEPOSIT” has been replaced with “BID NOW”. You can now place offers for all the lots of the auction

IMPORTANT: do not wait for the last moment to pay the deposit, if you encounter a technical problem, we will not be able to assist you if there is not enough time.

You can choose between two payment methods:

      • Bank transfer
        • Click on “pay deposit by wire transfer now”
        • Provide your bank account information (we will need it for refund purposes)
        • Click on “Deposit receipt” to download the information necessary to make the transfer.
        • As soon as we receive the sum in our bank account your profile will be authorized to bid on the lots of the auction
        • You will receive the authorization notification via email

IMPORTANT: remember that payments by bank transfer can take up to 48hrs to be received depending on the type of operation.

      • Credit card or prepaid card

The option to pay with credit card will be active starting from 7 days before auction closing date:

        • Click on “pay deposit by credit card now”
        • Insert the card information as requested

If the operation is successful, your profile will be automatically linked to the auction and you will be able to start bidding immediately. You will also receive an email by Banca Sella that confirms the successful transaction.

    • Where can I see the deposit amount?

In the auction description or by clicking on “pay the deposit now”, a modal will open with the instructions for the payment and the deposit details including the amount.

    • How many deposits should I pay?

If you pay a deposit for an auction experiment you will be allowed to bid on all the lots included in that specific auction. In case you wish to place bids on various lots that are part of different auctions you must pay a deposit for each auction.

    • What type of card can I use for deposit payments?

The system accepts all credit cards that use VISA or MASTERCARD circuits.

    • Can I pay the deposit with a card not registered in my name?

Yes, it is not relevant if the card is personal, a company card, or belongs to someone else, as the amount will be refunded and is not considered as part of the payment of an auction.

    • Why can’t I see the credit card payment option?

Please read carefully the auction description as this type of auction usually requires you to sign or send specific documentation to be allowed to place bids on the lots. This may be due to the type of Legal Procedure, restrictions on the sale, or for reasons related to the goods that may not comply with the European normative. The specific documentation is always indicated in the auction description, in the Specific Sale Terms and Conditions and/or downloadable from the document section on the auction page.
If instead you see “pay deposit with credit card” but the link is not active, read carefully the date of activation of the option.

    • Why is my payment not successful?

You may have not typed the security code required for transactions on Visa or Mastercard circuits or your card may not have the credit availability. Please contact the number you find printed on your credit card for more information.

    • When will the deposit be refunded?
      • In case of win

The deposit will be refunded within 7 working days from when we receive the payment confirmation or, if specified in the Specific Sale Terms and Conditions of the auction, once the goods have been collected.

      • In case of no win

The deposit will be refunded within 7 working days from the auction closing time.

    • I received an email that confirms the refund of the deposit, but I don’t have the amount available on my card yet, why?

Once the deposit release is authorized the amount will be available on your card according to the internal timings of your card company. For more information please contact the number you find printed on your credit card.

    • When can a deposit NOT be refunded?

Only in case the successful tenderer doesn’t comply with the specific sale terms and conditions for what concerns payment or collection of the goods. The payment timings are always specified on the auction and lot page, in the payment notes, and in the specific sale terms and conditions. In case of auction on behalf of a Legal Procedure the amount will be turned to the legal receiver as a compensation for any damage caused.

    • I received an email that informs me that the deposit has been temporarily collected, why?

Banca Sella freezes the amount for 25 days. To allow the release of the amount abilio must receive the written confirmation of the payment reception by the Legal Procedure/seller, if we haven’t received it within 25 days from the payment of the deposit, we have to temporarily collect the deposit as a precautionary measure. When we receive the payment, the amount will be entirely returned to your card and you will receive an email as refund confirmation.

  • AUCTION PARTICIPATION
    • How can I bid online?
      • Login (if you haven’t done it yet, complete your registration with the information required)
      • Pay the deposit
      • Once your profile has been linked to the auction click on “BID NOW”
      • Insert your bid
      • How to make sure you placed correctly the bid
        • Type in your bid without dots or commas
        • The first bid can be equal to the starting price
        • From the second offer on your bid must include the minimum raise that the system shows in the bid modal
        • The bid cannot be inferior to the starting price or the last offer received
        • Make sure you accept the Specific Sale Terms and Conditions
      • How to keep updated on the auction

You will receive a notification via email each time:

        • You place a successful bid
        • Your offer is outbid
        • The Proxy Bid is outbid

IMPORTANT: we strongly suggest you insert the email address info@industrialdiscount.com in your email contact list. If you notice you aren’t receiving our emails check the spam folder and, if necessary, remove the spam flag from our address.

      • Bid placing methods

Static bid: you manually place one bid at a time. If your offer is outbid, and you wish to raise your bid, you must place another static bid.

Proxy bid: to set a proxy bid insert the maximum amount you are willing to offer. Each time your offer is outbid the proxy bid will automatically raise applying the minimum raise each time, but without passing the maximum bid you have previously set.

IMPORTANT: If, in order to place a bid that includes the minimum raise, the proxy bid would have to make an offer higher than the limit you previously set, it will not place the bid.

        HOW IT WORKS

    • I paid the deposit but I don’t see the “BID NOW” button
      • Make sure you have logged in
      • If you still see “PAY DEPOSIT” it means that the deposit has not yet been linked to your profile or the transaction wasn’t successful.
      • Wire transfer payments

Regular wire transfer takes approximately 48 working hours to be credited. If after 3 days you still haven’t received the “profile enabled” email notification and after logging in you still see “PAY DESPOSIT” contact us.

IMPORTANT: Make sure that there isn’t any specific documentation required for the participation in the auction. You can find this information in the Specific Sale Terms and Conditions or in the auction description.

      • Credit card payments

Verify the successful operation by checking your inbox for the email from Banca Sella that confirms your request has been processed successfully. If your request went through your profile will automatically be enabled to take part in the auction. If you can’t complete the operation successfully and you have already verified the availability of your credit card, contact us.

      • I don’t see either BID NOW or PAY DEPOSIT

You may have the firewall port 1337 for TCP protocol. Contact your network administrator to unlock the port.

    • I can’t place bids and I see on the top right corner of the screen “CONNECTION ERROR CONTACT INDUSTRIAL DISCOUNT STAFF”
      The reason may be:
      • Graphic updates

our website is constantly updating to guarantee a continuous improvement of the user experience; some browsers may have saved in the cache folder some outdated data that influence the correct uploading of the website page or the effective functioning of the system:

        • Enter the browser menu (Chrome, Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.)
        • Access the “history” section and erase history and cache
        • Login and try again
      • Multiple login

If you logged in from more than one device remember that you will be able to place bids only from the last device connected to the website. To make sure this isn’t the problem logout from all devices and connect from only one device at a time.

      • Firewall port 1337

If you are using a company wi-fi connection, you might have a firewall problem. Ask your company’s IT technician to verify that the firewall port 1337 for TCP protocol is unblocked and then try again.
Contact us if the problem persists.

    • Where can I verify the minimum raise for a bid?

When you click on “bid now” if other bids have been placed the minimum raise will be shown above the bid field.

    • What is the reserve price?

The reserve price is the value the seller sets on a particular lot below which the lot cannot be sold without the seller’s approval. This means that if, at the end of the auction, you are the highest bidder but the reserve price is not met you have to wait for a communication from our staff to know if your offer has been accepted. It is not possible to know the reserve price value, if you reach the reserve price during the auction the system will show it in the reserve price field in the lot page.

    • Can I place a bid lower than the starting price?

It’s not possible to place bids that are lower than the starting price. If there aren’t any bids yet you can place a bid equal to the starting price. Otherwise you must place a bid that includes the minimum raise shown by the system after you click on “bid now”. If the auction is closed, you can make an offline offer writing to info@industrialdiscount.com

    • What is the proxy bid and how does it work?

It is an automatic raising system that places bids on your behalf. All you have to do is set the maximum bid you are willing to place for that lot and the proxy bid will act as follows:

      • When another bid is placed

The proxy bid will raise applying the minimum raise each time.

      • When your offer is outbid

The proxy bid will automatically raise applying the minimum raise each time, but without passing the maximum bid you have previously set. You will receive an email each time the proxy bid reacts.

      • If no other bids are placed

Your proxy bid will not react.

      • If the counteroffer is equal to your Proxy Bid

If a counteroffer is equal to the proxy bid set, the system considers valid the offer made by the proxy bid as it has been previously set.

    • When I place a bid, is the offer valid for all the items I see in the pictures or only for what I read in the lot description?

In case of differences between what written in the description and what you see in the pictures, you shall consider valid what is reported in the description. Read thoroughly the Specific Sale Terms and Conditions as it is clearly reported that goods are sold “as it is in fact and in the state in which it is found” and no warranty is provided. We also strongly recommend that you schedule an inspection of the lots you are interested in before taking part in an auction.

    • When does an auction close?

An auction closes when the timer reaches 00:00:00 and on the auction page you read “auction closed”. IMPORTANT: If in the last 5 minutes a new bid is placed the time is automatically extended for another 5 minutes from the moment the bid is placed. For this reason, there is no need to wait until the last second to place a bid.

    • What does “pending result” mean?

When the time expires if you see “pending result” it means that in the same auction there are other users that are still placing bids for other lots. The auction will officially close when the time expires for all lots. In case of an auction in two phases the second phase will then open and will last 10 minutes.

(See section AUCTION TYPES > What is an online competitive two-phase auction?)

    • What happens if no bids are placed for a lot?

The auction closes. You can insert the lot in your watchlist or click on “keep updated on the sale” to receive a notification via email when the new experiment opens.

  • PAYMENT AND COLLECTION
    • Where can I find payment instructions?

Within a few hours from the auction closure you will receive an email that confirms the win and a second email containing the payment notes with all the details to proceed with the payment in observance with the auction terms and conditions.

    • When can I collects the goods I have won?

In order to organize the collection of the goods we must first receive the confirmation of payment and authorization to collection from the Legal Procedure/seller. The contact person in charge of the auction will then contact you via email to organize all the collection details.

Keep in mind that when the sale is on behalf of a Legal Procedure the timings can be longer than a regular private sale. You can find the collection terms in the Specific Sale Terms and Conditions.

    • Is there specific equipment on site for dismantling and loading of won lots?

In most cases no specific equipment is available. All collection procedures are on behalf of the successful tenderer (dismantling, loading, transportation). This does not exclude the possibility to ask for an estimate or advice to our contact person that, when possible, will be glad to provide such information or service.

    • How can I obtain measures and weight details of the won lots?

All the lot information we have can be found online in the lot description. For any additional information please send an email to the contact person.

    • Can I assign the collection of the goods to another company or a courier?

Yes, you can hire a specific company or courier for the collection. Please keep in mind that it is necessary to inform the contact person who will send you the necessary and mandatory specific documentation you need to allow a third party to collect the goods on your behalf.

    • Are there any accessory costs that will be added to the lot final price?

To the winning bid will be applied:

      • VAT
      • Buyer's Premium (BP) + VAT
      • Other additional costs if specified in the lot description + VAT

IMPORTANT: Always read thoroughly the Sale Terms and Conditions.

    • What are the “Fixed Costs”?

If present these are additional fees that will be added to the final price in case of win. They are meant to cover the management advertising, supervision, and sale costs for that lot.

      • Registered movable assets

You must consider the costs of the paperwork. If the paperwork is assigned to our approved agency you can find the price list in the documentation section of the lot.

    • VAT: exemption cases
      • Regular Italian Exporter

To buy in VAT exemption, if you are an Italian company, you must provide, before the invoice is issued, the “Declaration of intent”:

        • One copy issued to abilio S.p.A. for what concerns the commissions
        • A second copy issued to the Legal Procedure for what concerns the lots won

IMPORTANT: the declaration of intent must comprehend the Agenzia delle Entrate receipt. You can find all the necessary data in the payment notes that you receive via email after the auction closure.

(See section EXPORTATION for more information)

      • VIES database

If both seller and buyer are registered with VIES the VAT will not be applied to the sale. You will receive the payment notes without VAT. In case one or both are not registered with VIES then the VAT will be regularly applied.

        Verify HERE your subscription

      • Extra CEE buyer

In this case we will ask you to pay the VAT as an EXPORT DEPOSIT. This amount will be fully refunded when we receive back (within 90 days from the collection date) the DAE with the MRN (Movement Reference Number).

      • Italian companies and privates

If not clearly specified in the lot description the VAT will be regularly applied.

      • Private sales

If the VAT is not applicable, or is applied in a different percentage, this information will be written in the lot description.

    • When will I receive the invoice?
      • Commission invoices

abilio will send the invoice for the commissions within a couple of days from the auction closure. In case the winner is an Italian company with regular p.iva an electronic invoice will be issued, and the winner will receive a courtesy copy of the invoice. Privates will receive regular invoice via email.

      • Won lot invoice

The invoice is issued by the Legal Receiver or the seller and usually is issued with the date of payment or of auction closure.
